Our story

I paid $7,800 for a website. It made me exactly zero dollars.

My name's Daniel Rowe. I spent 11 years in residential real estate in Sydney — listing, selling, building a reputation from the ground up. For most of that time, I didn't have a personal website. I relied on portal profiles, my agency brand, and the hope that when someone searched my name, something useful would come up.

The wake-up call was a listing I should have won. The vendor was in my suburb, knew my name, had seen my results. But they went with someone else. When I asked why, the answer was brutally simple: “His website just felt more professional.”

That night I Googled myself. What I found was embarrassing. My face was buried on page two of the results, underneath a competitor's blog post — about my own suburb.

“I Googled myself that night. What I found embarrassed me. My face was buried on page two, underneath a competitor's blog post about my own suburb.”

So I did what most agents do. I hired a “recommended” web developer. Three meetings. Handed over brand guidelines, headshots, a list of my key suburbs. He quoted $7,800 upfront plus $350 a month for hosting and updates.

I waited 11 weeks. What I received was a broken, mobile-unfriendly site with stock photos of American houses and not a single suburb page. Every revision — even fixing a phone number — was a billable event. I was paying a premium for a product that didn't do the one thing I needed it to do: make me findable.

The turning point

I started talking to other agents. Friends in Parramatta. Old colleagues in Melbourne and Brisbane. Every single one had a version of the same story — either they'd been burned by a developer, or they'd been meaning to “get a website done” for years and never got around to it because it seemed too complicated and too expensive.

These were good agents. They weren't losing listings because they were bad at their jobs. They were losing them because they were invisible online — and nobody had ever built a product specifically to fix that.

“The agents losing listings weren't worse at their jobs. They were just invisible online — and no one had built anything specifically to fix that.”

What we built and why

Rank My Business is for real estate agents who are good at their job, serious about their career, and done with being invisible online.

We built it around three non-negotiable principles:

It has to rank

Suburb-specific pages, schema markup, NLP-optimised copy, technical foundation that AI tools and Google can actually read. Built in from day one.

It has to convert

Lead capture as a primary objective — contact forms, click-to-call, countdown popups, suburb-specific calls to action.

It has to be yours

Survives agency changes, portal algorithm shifts. When a vendor Googles your name, they land on a page you control.

Listing to pay for years of it

This is the product I wish had existed.

I didn't build Rank My Business to sell websites. I built it because I watched good agents lose listings they deserved to win — simply because someone else showed up better on a search result.

Because a vendor who Googles two agents and finds one with a polished, suburb-specific authority site and one with a stale portal profile will always call the first one.

Because your reputation is worth more than a rented profile on someone else's platform.

Because you've spent years building expertise, trust, and results in your market — and that story deserves a home that belongs to you.

You've earned the right to own your name online. We're just here to make it happen.
